As a key part of a legal team, the Legal Assistant is responsible for a variety of administrative and research-based tasks. In our program, we teach skills like case investigation, filing legal documents, scheduling meetings, and general office support so you can be prepared for the work that lies ahead.
We want our students to feel ready for the real world. In our Legal Assistant program, it’s required to complete an externship as part of your education. This experience can prepare you to assist in a courtroom, work with wills and estates, help with administrative duties in a law office, or work in a government agency.
At PCI, we offer financial aid to those who qualify. Whether it’s a grant, scholarship, or federal financial aid, we want all students to have the opportunity to pursue their goals. To find out which option works best for you, contact our financial aid department.
If you’re interested in the legal field but aren’t excited by the idea of going to school for seven years, becoming a Legal Assistant could be the right choice for you. At PCI, our Legal Assistant diploma program can be completed in as little as 10 months. That means you could be prepared to work in an entry-level administrative position in just under a year!
With our curriculum, you can learn the administrative and critical thinking skills you’ll need to become a successful Legal Assistant. This includes training in case research, filing legal documents like exhibits, briefs, and appeals, and a supervised externship in a legal office and/or courtroom. Law firms and other organizations rely on knowledgeable, dedicated legal assistants to get things done–you could be that person!
Whether it’s a law office, corporate legal department, or government agency, Legal Assistants have options when it comes to their workplace. At PCI, it’s our goal to make sure you feel ready to work in any of these places. Working in the legal field means you need a solid understanding of the terminology and intricacies of each type of law. From real estate law to sensitive family cases, you’ll often be working with different scenarios. That’s what makes this career so interesting!
We want our students to be able to achieve their career goals in a positive, supportive environment. Our staff and educators are here to support you by offering continuous opportunities to learn, grow, and improve. We believe that every student deserves individualized attention so they have the chance to succeed. Let us help you on your journey to a new career.
